The immobiliser system (or immobilisers) is an excellent piece of electronic security technology that is a vehicle theft deterrent. Its purpose is to prevent your vehicle from getting hot-wired and stolen by a thief who does not have the keys to start the engine. In other words, it is a theft protection devicethat prevents thieves from wiring the car and driving away. Today’s immobilisers consist of a transponder chip on the key fob, a key fob and a security code. If you put your car key into the ignition or have it in the keyless compartments of your vehicle, it sends the security codes to the immobiliser.
